Lanka IOC PLC bags the Best Corporate Governance & Trading Sector Award during the National Business Excellence Award (NBEA)

LIOC bagged the National Business Excellence Awards under the category of Best Corporate Governance and Trading Sector during the National Business Excellence Award ceremony organized by the National Chamber of Commerce, Sri Lanka (NCCSL) held recently

“National Chamber of Commerce of Sri lanka” recognizes the top Corporate performers in Sri Lanka every year. Due to the pandemic situation during last two years, the award ceremony could not be organized. National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (established in 1948), has been holding this prestigious event since 2004.


Speaking on the occasion Mr Manoj Gupta, Managing Director, LIOC stated that “The National Business Excellence Award (NBEA) are widely regarded as one of the most sought after business awards, with a comprehensive and stringent criteria for selecting the best of businesses in Sri Lanka. 
These evaluation criteria are really helpful to improve the performance of a company at various levels.  LIOC’s recognition at the “National Business Excellence Award is a reflection of the overall exceptional performance and excellent management & Corporate Governance practices in line with global standards that lead to the value creation of the organization.

Mr Gupta further added that Lanka IOC have always been committed to play a pivotal role in the economic development of the country with a strong commitment towards sustainability, the wellbeing and the prosperity of the nation. The award ceremony was graced by many distinguished guests from Government & Industry across all sectors in Sri Lanka. H.E. Ambassador of France in Sri Lanka Mr Eric Lavertu was the chief guest of the programme.

Lanka IOC supports Gothatuwa Maha Vidyalaya to combat COVID-19

School education during these pandemic times has been severely affected. Considering that now the schools have re-opened, the safety of schoolchildren become the topmost priority for the society, especially those from lower-income families. Lanka IOC which has always been sensitive and active towards social upliftment has further stepped up its commitment by donating stainless steel foot peddle operated hand washing sinks, digital thermometers, sanitisers, bottles of liquid hand wash and KN95 Kids Masks to WP/Jaya/ Gothatuwa Maha Vidyalaya at Angoda to ensure good hygienic practices whilst strengthening the preventive measures against the COVID-19 infection among schoolchildren.

10 Motorbikes giveaways to delight the customers during LIOC/Honda Fill & Win Campaign

 

It is said that all good things come to an end. And similarly the  ‘Fill and win’ Mega Campaign conducted at 205 petrol sheds of Lanka IOC launched in the year 2020 January 13th also concluded on March 15th 2020. However due to the Pandemic the Prize distribution could not be conducted earlier.

Despite the Pandemic the Campaign received an overwhelming, enthusiastic and positive response from all customers covering 07 Province. Over 1.50 Lac customers participated in the campaign that brought together all stakeholders, pledging to appreciate,  thank and reward motorists for their patronage.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event Mr.Tarinda Executive Director and Mr.Charaka Pareira Director of Stafford Motors said that the cross promotion campaign provided motorists the opportunity to drive away with Honda scooters with a total prize offering worth over 2.25 Mn LKR.

The winners attended the grand prize distribution ceremony at short notice and travelled from a distance of over 300 kilometers. One of the winners said that even now it is unbelievable that he has won a Honda Bike as part of this promotion. Similar sentiment was echoed by 06 of the 10 winners who were present on the occasion.

Lanka IOC shines with Gold at CA Sri Lanka’s 56th Annual Report Awards

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) accorded the “Gold Award” to the Annual Report of Lanka IOC PLC under the Power and Energy Sector for the year 2020-21 during the Grand Finale of 56th Annual Report Awards ceremony.

Annual Report awards by CA Sri Lanka are the most prestigious awards and corporate event over half a century in the country which awards the selected Corporates for their resilience and perseverance in promoting transparency, accountability, good governance, and social responsibility helping investors and other stakeholders gain better insight into the organisation’s operations and achievements.

The award was received by Lanka IOC Managing Director Mr Manoj Gupta and his team at the award ceremony held recently at the BMICH. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Viraj Dayaratne, President’s Counsel, and Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka, Manil Jayesinghe, President of CA Sri Lanka, Dumith Fernando, Chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange, Sanjaya Bandara, Vice President of CA Sri Lanka, Chaaminda Kumarasiri, Chairman of the Annual Report Awards Committee; Chamila Cooray, Alternate Chair of the Annual Report Awards Committee, Rajeeva Bandaranaike, Chief Executive Officer of the Colombo Stock Exchange and Dulani Fernando, Chief Executive Officer of CA Sri Lanka.

Lanka IOC donated 100 Samsung make new smartphones to the ministry of Education, GoSL, in support of school education.

School education during this Pandemic times have shifted to digital mode and is heavily dependent on smart mobile phones. Underscoring, the e-learning need of school children of the society, mainly coming from lower-income group families, Lanka IOC further stepped up their commitment by way of donation of 100 Samsung make new smart phones to Ministry of Education, GoSL.

Accordingly, today Mr. Manoj Gupta, Managing Director, Lanka IOC handed over this token of donation to Honourable Minister of Education, Mr Dinesh Gunawardana at Ministry of Education, Battaramulla. Hon’ble Minister highly appreciated this responsible corporate gesture of Lanka IOC and thanked for coming forward for the care and concern for underprivileged children of society.

Mr. Manoj Gupta extended his heartfelt thanks to the Hon’ble Minister of Education for giving this noble opportunity and assured them for continued regular empathy and assistance to the best possible extent for such a virtuous cause. Further, he added that our ongoing initiatives are in line with the current need for fighting challenges of COVID-19 and we shall continue to expand our support for the community during these unprecedented challenging times.

As a part of its ongoing efforts to support the Country’s endeavour to mitigate the challenges of the Pandemic, recently Lanka IOC came forward in the distribution of very hygienic dry ration stuff to numerous families of Sri Lanka Welfare Society of the Blind Women (SLWSBW).
