Lanka IOC donates dialysis machine to base hospital Walasmulla.

In its steadfast commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), Lanka IOC, a prominent corporate entity with over two decades of operations in Sri Lanka, is taking significant strides to positively impact the lives of the needy and underprivileged. The company recognizes its duty to contribute to the betterment of society, with a particular focus on education, healthcare, environment and community development.

In addition to its ongoing CSR initiatives, Lanka IOC has launched a special project during this financial year to address a requirement for a critical health issue in the nation — Kidney failure. The company is dedicated to combating this issue by donating Dialysis machines to key healthcare institutions. Lanka IOC has donated four Hemodialysis Machines to various hospitals in the country. The fifth Dialysis machine was donated to Base Hospital Walasmulla recently. The machine was officially handed over to the Hospital ceremonially by Dipak Das, Managing Director and the CSR team of Lanka IOC. Additionally, three more are ready for donations during the next quarter of the financial year ending on 31 March 2024.

This event was attended by most venerable Muruththewela Sumanajothi Thera – Asst. Principal Walasmulla National School, Dr. Lakshmi Somatunga – Additional Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr Chandima Siritunga Provincial Director of Health Services, Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe – Commander Southern Naval Area, Dr Deepika Patabendige – District Director of Health Services, Supun Jeevananda – Director Presidential Secretariat and Dipak Das, Managing Director Lanka IOC.

Lanka IOC’s CSR initiatives during the current year span across various sectors, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to social responsibility. These initiatives include the contribution of essential medical equipment to Government hospitals, the donation of ambulances, the provision of educational accessories to schoolchildren from low-income families, the distribution of dry rations among different sectors of the underprivileged community, undertaking blood donation campaigns and health awareness initiatives, donation of wheelchairs, spectacles, hearing aids and white canes to enhance the quality of life for individuals with specific needs, sponsorship for cleaning coastal areas and planting trees, etc. The company’s comprehensive CSR efforts underscore its commitment to being a socially responsible corporate citizen, actively contributing to the well-being of the community it serves
